About the role
We're seeking a Senior Financial Accountant – Supply Chain to join our Finance team. As a key member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in managing the accuracy and integrity of financial data related to supply chain costs.
You'll take a proactive approach to month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as compliance and reconciliation of key accounts. With your analytical mindset and focus on continuous improvement, you'll identify opportunities to streamline processes, coach junior team members, and deliver insights that support our strategic goals.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering excellent flexibility, based in our Chadstone support office 2 – 3 days per week, with the rest working from home in a hybrid working arrangement.
Key responsibilities:
* Process monthly accruals, journal entries, and complete balance sheet account reconciliations for supply chain cost centres, including freight, import distribution, customer delivery, and fulfilment.
* Prepare monthly Supply Chain cost reports, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with Business Partners across the Supply Chain division.
* Conduct monthly reviews of results, preparing commentary to explain variances to budget, forecast, and prior year.
* Work closely with internal and external auditors to deliver half-year and year-end reporting requirements.
* Manage SAP processes, including running allocations, mass reversals, and OneStream upload activities.
* Maintain General Ledger, Profit Centre, and Allocation master data.
* Ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations with other Wesfarmers entities.
* Manage FX and deferral processes.
* Support the Financial Control Manager with ad hoc requests and strategic finance projects.
* Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and building capability within the team.
About you
You're a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives on analysing complex data and turning it into clear insights. With strong technical skills and the ability to communicate financial information in a simple and engaging way, you're confident in building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Requirements:
* 3 – 5+ years of experience in financial accounting roles, ideally with exposure to supply chain or logistics operations.
* CPA or CA qualification (essential).
* Experience using SAP, BW, and Blackline (desirable).
* Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
* Proven experience delivering month-end processes and supporting audit requirements.
* A collaborative and proactive approach to working with cross-functional teams.
* Leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
