**Position Information**:
Merriwa Central School is located in a supportive rural community, approximately two hours west of Newcastle. The school caters for an enrolment of 235 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with a separate secondary and primary campus. The school encourages all students to embrace their identity and now has 20% of students identifying as Aboriginal. The school has an ongoing commitment to the development and delivery of quality teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students. Vocational education is supported by local industry and the Upper Hunter Trade Training Centre.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach Science 7-10, Chemistry and Biology. Willingness to teach across primary and secondary in a K-12 setting. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs and develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
