About the Role
DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our client in a newly created full-time position based in Melbourne.
This role is responsible for overseeing the organisation's operational, financial, and administrative activities to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of its programs and initiatives. You will work closely with leadership and the governing Council to support organisational priorities, manage resources, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day operational, financial, and administrative functions of the organisation, including the management of two heritage listed buildings
* Provide coordination and administrative support to the Council, including preparation for meetings and governance processes
* Manage contract administration to support organisational activitie
* Coordinate events, programs, and initiatives delivered by the Society
* Maintain and develop partnerships with stakeholders, members, and community groups
* Support and coordinate volunteer teams involved in organisational activities
* Facilitate communications and engagement with members and external stakeholders
* Ensure operational activities align with the organisation's strategic priorities
What You Will Bring
* Demonstrated experience in operational management management
* Experience managing financial processes and operational planning
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and manage organisational processes effectively
* Experience working with volunteers or small teams is highly desirable
* An interest in science, technology, or community engagement would be highly regarded
* Previous experience within the nonprofit or membership-based sector is advantageous
* Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment
