The Opportunity

* Fixed term, full-time position for 12 months based in Melbourne.
* VPS Grade 6 role: $138,631 - $185,518 per year plus superannuation.

Manage the development and delivery of priority projects across Victoria's Youth Justice system. A key focus of the role will be to support the delivery of the final report of the South Sudanese Australian Youth Justice Expert Working Group. This is a project being undertaken in partnership between the Department of Justice and Community Safety and the Commission for Children and Young People. It involves deep engagement with partners in the community to address the overrepresentation of South Sudanese Australian young people in the criminal justice system.

The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key senior stakeholders. Core to being successful will be your expertise in policy development and/or project management, and flexibility to adapt to working on emerging priorities within the Priority Projects team in Youth Justice Head Office, with the opportunity to be involved in delivering long-lasting reform.

To be successful in this role you will have

* experience in government policy design, project delivery and/or service design.
* experience in, or sound knowledge of, the criminal justice system and associated service systems.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
