Community Mental Health Clinicians – Making a Real Difference in People’s Lives

What You’ll Be Doing
- GOT IT - Getting On Track in Time is a school-based mental health early intervention service for children in Kindergarten to Year 2 who display disruptive behaviours and emerging conduct disorders.
- Work with children, parents, carers and School staff to prevent mental illness and behavioural disorders in later life and improve educational outcomes.
- Provide targeted and universal intervention to children, parents, carers and school staff involved in Got It!, including development of behavioural/social skills groups and delivery of parenting programs.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers. RNs must have completed a relevant post-registration qualification in mental health or similar and at least 3 years’ experience in child and adolescent mental health.
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating programs, including clinical groups.
- Experience in family systems-based intervention and working with children and families with complex mental health needs.
- Ability to provide clinical guidance and training to multidisciplinary teams and students.
- Strong collaboration with stakeholders and understanding of NSW Mental Health Act (2007) and related legislation relevant to children.
- High level communication and computer literacy skills; ability to engage with consumers, families, carers and stakeholders.
- Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and willingness to travel as required; may involve long drives and overnight stays.
