About the location
Narngulu is located just 12 kilometres southeast of Geraldton in Western Australia.
This residential, drive in drive out, position operates on a schedule of 5 days on, 2 days off, working a standard 40 hours per week. You will be required to be on call every 4th week. Relocation assistance is not available.

About the role
Applications are invited for a Mechanical Technician to be responsible for the mechanical maintenance activities associated with the operation of the Narngulu Minerals Separation Plant (MSP).
We are seeking applicants who have a demonstrated ability to organise, proactively prioritise and complete tasks under limited supervision. This fast-paced role will require a high level of attention to detail with exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
Reporting directly to the Mechanical Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out onsite scheduled mechanical maintenance as well as attending to and minimising any plant breakdown activities.
Key accountabilities will include:
* Complete both planned and unplanned fixed plant mechanical maintenance tasks
* Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections
* Carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis
* Solve reliability issues using fault finding abilities
* Continual assessment and improvement of the process, equipment and procedures
About you
To be successful in this role you will offer:
* A mechanical trade certificate
* Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry in maintaining fixed plant equipment, Warman pumps, conveyors, screens, sizers, chutes, hoppers, general steel fabrication, pipe work fabrication/welding and scoping of jobs
* Commitment to a pro-active approach to safety and the environment
* Pump rebuild experience highly desirable
* Good numerical, literacy and computer skills with proficiency in SAP or similar
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a diverse team, while also demonstrating initiative and an ability to work independently
* Unrestricted WA C Class Drivers Licence
Desirable Criteria
* HR licence
* High risk tickets - Crane ticket (CN), Dogman (DG), Forklift (LF), Work platform (EWP)
* Experience with Confined Space and Working at Height also preferred but not essential
