JMGare looking for an Accounts Officer to join our team in our Hobart office. A proudly 100% Tasmanian owned and managed engineering company, we have been servicing the Tasmanian private & public construction and infrastructure market for over 60 years. About the role 
This role is a dynamic mix of finance, payroll, and administrative support, requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills. From daily reconciliations and payroll processing through to accounts management, reporting, and HR assistance, the position plays a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly and supporting both staff and management. 
Main Responsibilities & Duties 
- Daily bank and credit card reconciliations 
- EOM account reconciliations 
- Telephone payments and issuing receipts 
- Accounts Payable – process invoices, prepare bank batches, reconcile supplier accounts 
- Payroll – fortnightly processing, super, STP, PAYG, payslips, leave tracking, expense claims 
- Maintain accurate client and supplier records 
- Create purchase orders 
- Set up job budgets 
- HR support relief – draft offer letters, job ads, onboarding, interview scheduling 
- Previous experience with Xero highly desirable 
Candidate profile 
To be the successful candidate in this role youthe ideal candidate will: 
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs with a focus on proficiency in Word – Intermediate level or be willing to undertake training to reach this level or Advanced. 
- Previous experience working in a corporate office environment. 
- Have strong attention to detail and enjoy the meticulous nature of the work. 
- The ability to learn new skills and a desire to provide a high level of customer service, both internally and externally. 
- Ability to work harmoniously with others.
