Overview

Far North Community Services Ltd. (Far North) is a registered NDIS provider based in and operating throughout the vast Kimberley regionof WA.

Due to growth in business and increase in demand for our services, we have vacancies for Disability Support Workers in Broome, Kununurra, Derby, Fitzroy Crossing and Halls Creek WA.


Responsibilities

* Provide assistance with daily living tasks and domestic assistance
* Personal, health care and in-home support
* Support to get out and about in the community with social and recreational activities
* Weekend, afternoon and night shifts with some sleep overs required.

To be suitable for the role

* Experience supporting people with a disability or demonstrated values commensurate with Far North and a willingness to commit to training and skill development
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
* The ability to problem-solve and work flexible without direct supervision
* A 'C' class driver's licence and a reliable, suitably insured car
* A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than three months old.
* NDIS Worker's Screening (or willingness to obtain)
* Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Certificate 3 or higher in any relevant community services certificate
* Certificates and recognised training in medications, positive behaviour support, manual handling, autism or other relevant qualification
* holding a qualification that is less than 4 years old
* a minimum of least 6 months full time (or part-time equivalent) employment in a relevant current role at the required skill level
* Whilst it is our preference to employ from the local labour market, we will consider candidates already in Australia that hold appropriate visa with work rights.
