Description & Scope
We have an internship vacancy within the ‘New Energy Materials’ Program for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for material characterization.
You will work on understanding the impact of different material properties on the process performance of sorbent materials.
Working alongside the scientists at SCR, you will develop proficiency in various characterization techniques such as SEM, BET, BTA, etc. You will also develop proficiency in data management and analysis skills in Python to analyze experimental data. The results of the internship will be shared with other scientists at the center through a written report and oral presentation.
Deliverables
* Develop proficiency in material and surface characterization techniques – SEM, BET, BTA, TGA, FTIR, etc.
* Perform synthesis and characterization experiments under supervision.
* Analyze and interpret experimental data using established statistical techniques.
* Good laboratory practices, working within HSE guidelines.
* Technical report writing and presentation of results to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Masters Degree (Penultimate or final year) in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or a related field
* Scientific curiosity.
* Fundamental laboratory skills.
* Programming in Python
