Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and maintenance of contemporary, efficient and high-quality systems and processes that uphold Tasmania's animal welfare and biosecurity standards.
* Contribute to protecting the state's primary industries, natural environment and unique way of life.
* Manage a small, high-performing team.
* Represent the department in stakeholder engagement and interagency collaborations.
* Lead high profile or complex compliance investigations and deliver enforcement outcomes.
Our ideal candidate has
* Extensive experience in biosecurity, animal welfare or aquaculture regulation.
* Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.
* Proven ability to manage complex investigations and regulatory compliance.
* Port authority security clearance.
