WaterNSW is seeking potential Water Monitoring Field Officers to apply to our talent pool for potential upcoming opportunities in 2025 based in Moree .

What you'll do:  

9. Collect, process and manage Hydrometric surface water, groundwater and water quality monitoring data from a large remote monitoring network 

10. Collect water quality samples as requested by internal or external stakeholders within assigned sites and in accordance with quality guidelines and relevant procedures 

11. Install, manage and maintain monitoring equipment and infrastructure to prescribed standards 

12. Report on the performance of water monitoring sites from telemetered/non-telemetered datasets and seek instrumentation advice to identify/resolve issues 

13. A willingness to travel overnight to remote/isolated locations throughout NSW 

* Contribute to continual improvement of the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, audit programs and development of work instructions and procedures.  

What we are looking for:    

14. Competent knowledge and use of various tools including battery operated tools and general tools used in the construction industry 

15. Awareness of and interest in natural resource management, particularly water 

16. Computer literacy and ability to interpret data, work with specialist databases and monitor network performance.

17. Current NSW Drivers Licence 

18. Desirable: Undergraduate degree or Diploma of Water Industry Operations, Science, Engineering, Asset Management, or equivalent experience in an appropriate field
* Desirable: Experience using Hydstra database, strong swimming ability, Boat License, row a boat/kayak, work at heights, heavy lifting, and ability in driving four-wheel drive vehicles
