About the team
–

The Office of the CEO maximises engagement across government and key stakeholders through strategic leadership of media and communications, policy and legal counsel to ensure consistency and focus on priorities across the whole organisation. The group also provides executive support and secretariat functions to the ASC Board of Commissioners.

About the role
–

Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief of Staff, the ASC Secretariat position provides administrative support to the ASC Board and Executive. This is a fast-paced role that requires strong stakeholder engagement, time management and attention to detail. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership and develop a broad understanding of how the organisation operates. Day to day you will be responsible for the following:

* The management and timely distribution of the agenda for the ASC Board and the ASC Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee meetings, as well as the ASC Executive Committee meetings.
* The accurate recording and distribution of the board and committee meeting minutes.
* Management of the ASC Board and FAR Committee SharePoint site.
* The creation and maintenance of an up-to-date board and committee planning calendar.
* Management of the Commissioners contact details, appointment dates, term of appointments, conflict of interest register and biographies.
* Manage all flight and accommodation bookings for Commissioners to attend face to face meetings and support the logistics of the meetings including arranging catering.
* Ensure timely acquittal of Commissioner expenses related to their roles.
* As required, provide executive support to the ASC Chair to assist with calendar management and logistics.

* Experience in a position that has provided administrative support, including minute taking for a Board and/or Committees
* Displays a high level of confidentiality.
* Experience collaborating across teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Experience in stakeholder management and communications.

Eligibility

* To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.

As part of the Commonwealth Child Safety Framework the ASC is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and leading the way in Child Safety across the sports sector. This position requires a Working with Vulnerable/Children People check to obtain employment.

* As part of this position, the role occupant may have access to sensitive, and potentially distressing information in the areas of sexual misconduct and child safeguarding.
* The ASC is committed to protecting children from harm. We require all applicants that will work with children to undergo screening processes prior to appointment.
* Should a merit pool be established for this position, it may be used to fill ongoing or fixed term opportunities as they arise within 18 months from the date advertised.
* The ASC operates under the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Public Service Act 1999. The ASC accepts most leave liability and recognition of prior service if you are currently employed at a Commonwealth agency.
