ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about sustainability and operational excellence for the community? We're looking for two dedicated Waste Management Program & Contract Oversight Officers to play a pivotal role in overseeing major waste management initiatives and ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day contract operations. The Waste Management Program & Contract Oversight Officer is responsible for overseeing the execution of waste management capital projects and ensuring the effective management of related capital projects & contracts. This role ensures the delivery of high quality waste infrastructure and services while combining strong project management oversight with contract management expertise, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

We have a full-time permanent position and a full-time 12 month fixed-term position available.

The successful candidate will have:

* Strong management and contract oversight experience.
* Hands-on experience in the waste management industry, with a solid understanding of its challenges, opportunities, and best practices.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and the community.
* Possess tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, contract management, or a relevant field, along with broad experience across operational and managerial functions, preferably within waste management or related industry sectors.
* A robust understanding of waste management issues and contract management within an environmentally sensitive context.
* Demonstrated expertise in overseeing multi-million-dollar capital works programs and contracts management within waste management industry (preferred)
