The Suicide Prevention Project Officer is positioned at the forefront of community-based suicide prevention efforts, requiring collaborative work to empower local communities, support vital networks, and deliver significant state-wide events. This role presents a unique opportunity for an individual with skills in community development, project management, and stakeholder engagement, combined with an understanding of mental health and suicide prevention, to contribute to meaningful change across Tasmania.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with community partners to empower local communities, support vital networks, and deliver state-wide suicide prevention events.
* Demonstrate ability to successfully deliver projects and plan events, managing competing priorities effectively to meet deadlines.
* Show confidence and capability in leading, convening, and facilitating community initiatives.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in community development, health promotion, public health, or a related discipline.
* A robust combination of relevant experience and training.
* Proven experience in community development, effective community consultation, and building strong stakeholder relationships.
* A genuine understanding of, and sensitivity towards, the needs of individuals, families, and communities affected by suicide and mental ill-health.
