About the Opportunity
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Software Assurance Engineer to join our Hunter Class LOB.
This role can be performed from either Osborne or Melbourne, reporting to the Software Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute software assurance processes to enable proactive identification of Subcontractor software quality issues and strategies for rectification.
* Evaluate and maintain evidence that software within HCF systems achieves and sustains the required level of quality in accordance with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements.
* Update HCFP software assurance documents and assess Subcontractor software quality risk using defined processes and procedures.
* Support engineering teams in assessing software quality, including product safety and product security.
* Maintain the HCFP Software Management Plan and Software List.
* Develop and implement Software Assurance plans, policies and procedures, including plans to assess Subcontractor software quality risk, resolve quality issues and monitor software quality during Systems integration.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* An engineering degree with experience in Software Development, Software Test and/or Software Acceptance.
* Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia, Australian Computer Society, or equivalent.
* A strong understanding of Software Development lifecycle and relevant industry standards.
* Experience in use of Configuration and Change Management principles and tools.
* Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
* Effective stakeholder management skills and experience.
* A defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
