 
        
        OverviewFarmsJob PurposeAssist with all daily aspects of the Nursery & Finishing section which includes: providing individual sow and piglet care; following herd health guidelines; and maintaining accurate records to achieve optimal production outcomes and high standards of animal welfare.Reports ToSection Coordinator / Animal Care Technician – LeadKey ResponsibilitiesSalary: €34,000Hour of Work: 39Location: Fenor Farms, Matthewstown, Co Waterford, X91 E729Perform required daily tasks in the Nursery & Finishing sectionsEnsure that pigs have access to feed and water at all timesMonitor pigs daily for health issues and treat according to the Animal Care PlanAssist with weekly movement of pigs from the nursery to finishing sectionsAssist with selection and loading of finished market pigs and replacement giltsMonitor room environments, including temperature and air qualityMaintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene within the sectionRemove deceased pigs and dispose of appropriatelyMaintain and update all section records, including MetaFarms, worksheets, and door chartsProvide assistance to the Farrowing & Lactation section on weaning daysAssist with room preparation, including tear down, power washing, disinfection, and setupPerform section preventative maintenance, conduct regular facility and equipment checks, and carry out basic repairsAssist other sections as directed by the Production ManagerAttend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduledMaintain consistent and punctual attendanceFollow all Fenor Farms production, health and safety, and biosecurity policiesEnsure animals are treated humanely and in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare ActSkills / Qualifications / ExperienceRequires intermediate English-language competency (reading, writing, conversational)Flexibility to work weekend on a rotational rosterBasic technology skills to enter production data on a smartphone or tablet appPrevious experience in animal care preferredAbility to follow animal care protocols and farm operating standardsStrong attention to detail and reliable record-keeping habitsAbility to work well as part of a team and follow directionSelf-motivated, dependable, and committed to animal welfarePhysically capable of manual tasks, including:Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouchingClimbing gates up to 1 metre in heightLifting, carrying, and moving items up to 20 kgNote: As with all positions, due to the agile nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
