About the Role: Casual from October 2025
The Senior Medical Oncologist is required to:
* provide excellent clinical expertise and service in Medical Oncology.
* provide supervision to junior medical and other relevant staff within the Unit/ Department.
* support Bass Coast Health's quality, monitoring and improvement initiatives
* To support Bass Coast Health's teaching, research and clinical governance programs.
* To support the strategic priorities and values & beliefs of Bass Coast Health.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice. Fellowship of the relevant college(s). Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Medical Oncology.
* Meets Bass Coast Health's requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Medical Oncology
* Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
Mandatory Requirements:
MANDATORY:
* Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians
* A valid Police Check
* Vaccination in accordance with the Mandatory Vaccination Requirements
* Healthcare to whom the mandatory vaccination (influenza vaccination) directions apply, will be required to be vaccinated annually
DESIRABLE:
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
