The Role
We are seeking a Full Time Oral Health Therapist to provide preventative and restorative oral healthcare.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm
76 hours per fortnight
Start Date: Mid July
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assessing and treating dental disease in children and adolescents
* Providing general dental treatments including cleaning, polishing, fillings and radiographs
* Extracting baby teeth under local anaesthetic
* Referring complex dental cases to dentists
* Delivering oral health education and preventative care
* Performing oral health assessments and treatment planning
* Providing periodontal and preventive oral health care
* Completing dental prophylaxis including removal of deposits and stains
* Conducting oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments
* Taking and interpreting dental radiographs
* Educating patients on oral hygiene and plaque control
* Working collaboratively with dentists and the wider clinical team
Additional Duties
Additional duties may include:
* Maintaining equipment and clinical supplies
* Monitoring inventory and ordering stock
* Supporting infection control protocols
* Participating in professional development activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must have:
* Bachelor degree in Oral Health Therapy approved by the Dental Board of Australia
* Current AHPRA registration
* X‐ray licence (able to take OPGs)
* Knowledge of ADA Infection Control Guidelines and AS/NZS 4815 standards
