Galaxy City is moving beyond basic system integration into intelligent, automated workflows —where software doesn’t just move data, but reasons, acts, and assists teams in real time.
This role exists to help build and extend internal platforms that combine traditional full-stack development with AI-powered agents —systems that can summarise, classify, trigger actions, and assist decision-making across construction, operations, and management workflows.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers on real production systems, helping integrate AI services into day-to-day tools used by the business. This is an ideal role for a developer who already understands the basics of AI APIs or agent frameworks and wants to apply them in a real commercial environment.
What you’ll do (day-to-day)
* Build and maintain backend services and APIs (Node.js and/or Python).

* Assist in developing AI-powered features such as:
o Summarisation, classification, or decision support
o Workflow automation using AI agents
o Natural-language interfaces tied to internal systems
* Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and data sources.
* Develop frontend components so users can interact with AI-assisted tools.
* Debug production issues and improve reliability and performance.
* Learn how AI systems behave in real-world, imperfect data environments.
Must-haves
* Experience with JavaScript (Node.js) or Python in practical projects.
* Exposure to AI APIs or agent-style systems (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, custom agent logic, or similar).
* Understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
* Basic database knowledge (Postgres, MySQL, or similar).
* Comfort working with partially defined problems and evolving requirements.
