About the Role
As a Development Engineer at Unitywater, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing regions. You'll use your engineering expertise to assess and guide development applications, ensuring new water and sewerage connections meet Unitywater’s standards for quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
You’ll work closely with developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to lead technical reviews, on-site inspections, and pre-start meetings, providing practical solutions that support our customers and communities. Your day might involve reviewing complex infrastructure plans, negotiating development outcomes, or training others on engineering standards, all while upholding our service commitments and championing safety.
This is a full-time permanent chance based at our Maroochydore head office.
About you

- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or similar qualification).
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, codes, and engineering standards in water and sewerage development assessments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you're confident engaging with stakeholders, presenting technical information clearly, and negotiating outcomes.
- A customer-first mindset, with a drive to deliver quality service and practical, timely advice.
- A knack for problem-solving and continuous improvement, with a commitment to innovation and best practice.
- Confidence leading site inspections, audits, and pre-start meetings to ensure works are compliant and safe.
