Cardinal Contractors is a long-established contracting business servicing the mining, earthmoving and commercial sectors across WA. We specialise in remote mine site earthworks, road construction and maintenance, and rehabilitation works — with a strong reputation for reliability, safety and quality.
As we continue to grow, we're seeking an Accountant to join our Bunbury Corporate Office. This is a hands-on, full-function accounting role supporting both corporate and site operations, and working closely with the senior leadership team.

What You'll Be Responsible For
* Full end-to-end bookkeeping, GL management and cashflow control (MYOB)
* Accounts payable, receivables, purchase orders (MEX) and bank reconciliations
* Payroll processing, timesheet checks, PAYG & super
* BAS, payroll tax, fuel rebate and related statutory obligations
* Month-end, year-end close and management reporting
* Budgeting, forecasting & variance analysis
* Supervising admin/data entry staff and supporting office operations
* Supporting tender submissions, contract documentation and commercial risk management
* Liaising with site teams, suppliers, service providers and external accountants

What You'll Bring
* 3+ years in a similar accounting role (contracting/mining/civil advantageous)
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce
* CPA/CA qualified or near completion
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
* Motivated, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
* Solid understanding of workplace OH&S
