Technical Officer - Control Systems (Senior Drafter)

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, safety‑related Rail System drawings to support the design teams. You will apply advanced CAD skills and knowledge of Rail Systems to prepare, review, and coordinate technical drawings for new and modified infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Computer Aided Design (CAD) drafting services of engineering circuits for new and altered infrastructure projects.
Communicate with Project Coordinators, Engineers, and other disciplines regarding all technical drafting aspects of various projects.
Ensure drawings and documentation conform to relevant ARO standards, project specifications, and national rail signalling guidelines.
Review and quality‑check drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
Assist in the development and maintenance of CAD templates, libraries and standards to improve drafting efficiency and consistency.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior drafters, contributing to team capability development.
About You
8+ years drafting expertise in rail projects, with a strong focus on Rail Systems/Electrical.
Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
High level of skill in the use of CAD (especially MicroStation and AutoCAD) and drawing management systems.
Sound knowledge of railway signalling, safe working principles and practices.
Sound knowledge of engineering, quality and safety management systems applicable to signalling engineering projects.
Familiarity with ARO standards and specifications.
Technical aptitude, good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Solid organisational and time‑management skills.
