Sydney, NSW | Full-time (4-Day Work Week) | $40–$60 per hour + Super + Company Vehicle - Immediate Start Available
We are seeking an experienced Passive Fire Specialist for an immediate start to join our growing operations team in Sydney. This is a dual-function role combining hands-on installation of passive fire systems with inspection, testing, reporting, and sign-off responsibilities.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position suits a skilled technician who can complete compliant installations and confidently take ownership of final verification and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
– Install passive fire protection systems including fire-stopping, sealants, collars, wraps, boards, and fire-rated penetrations
– Carry out rectification works to existing non-compliant installations
– Inspect completed works and verify compliance with the NCC and relevant Australian Standards
– Complete testing, photographic records, penetration registers, and compliance reports
– Sign off completed works in accordance with approved systems and company authorisations
– Coordinate with builders, site supervisors, and other trades
– Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and documentation

Required Competencies, Licensing & Training
Mandatory
– Current Construction Induction White Card
– Current NSW Driver's Licence (company vehicle provided)
Technical Competency (Required for Sign-Off)
– Demonstrated competency in passive fire protection installation and inspection
– Ability to install and assess passive fire systems in accordance with tested and approved systems
– Working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards (including AS 1530 and AS
Training & Accreditation (Required)
– Formal passive fire training and/or qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing or equivalent industry-recognised training)
– Manufacturer accreditation for passive fire systems (e.g. Hilti, Trafalgar, Promat, Rockwool, CSR/Fyrchek or similar), enabling compliant installation and sign-off

– Proven experience in passive fire installation and remediation
– Comfortable inspecting and signing off your own and others' work
– Strong attention to detail with a compliance-focused mindset
– Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturer system details
– Organised, reliable, and able to work independently across multiple sites
