The Role
We are looking for a qualified CNC Machinist to join our Mechanical Engineering team based in Somersby, NSW Central Coast.
This full-time permanent position involves the use of computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery, from set-up to operation.
We have a fully equipped CNC machine shop with machinery including:
DMG MORI NTX ******-axis machine with sub spindle
DMG MORI NLX ********Y QTY 2
DMG MORI NLX ********SY billet loading machine with sub spindle
DOOSAN PUMA 250L slant bed lathe
BEMATO BMT**** vertical machine centre with 4 axis
DMG MORI MILLTAP 700
DMG MORI NVX**** vertical machine centre with 4 axis
FANUC ROBOCUT C800IB
Key responsibilities will include:
Programming on machines and using CAM software
Optimising programmes before passing onto operators
Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
Ensuring specifications are maintained by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs
Training of apprentices and operators as required
To be considered for this role you will:
Be a qualified and experienced CNC tradesperson with a minimum of 5 years post-trade experience
Be competent in manual machining
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possess the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to complete jobs in a timely manner.
Attention to detail and highest quality workmanship are paramount.
As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
