We are currently working on behalf of our client in recruiting an Engineering Manager to work in a permanent contract fixed term or an hourly/daily rate basis. This progressive position with a key strategic port iwhich is experiencing long-term growth and potential.
The Engineering leader will manage and take on various activities throughout a range of capital works across marine/civil/structural engineering projects while following a high-value asset management plan.
**The Role & Responsibilities**:
The position of Engineering Manager will require coordination and stakeholder engagement ability across a complex project environment while working to a framework and strategic asset management plan dedicated to pro-longing the life of a mid to end of lifecycle asset.
This contract role is seeking a reliable, experienced and autonomous leader who can provide clear evidence of success in a technical Project Management role, with a background in coordination and across a Port & Marine engineering environment.
Reporting directly to the CEO, key criteria and activities will include;
- Relevant degree qualification in Civil, Marine or Structural Engineering
- A proven background and ability in managing infrastructure engineering and construction projects from tender phase through to delivery and engagement of specialist stakeholders
- High level of initiative and ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated asset management experience, or exposure to maintaining major assets in a civil/construction environment, ideally Ports or Marine projects
- A strong understanding of local Victoria legislation and policy is highly desirable
- Project background in managing specialist stakeholders such as design consultancies, environmental engineers and civil contractors
- Problem-solving initiative and a sound ability to make judgments in a civil engineering project
- Organised and proactive personality, enabling decisive action and strategic input to a fast-paced project portfolio
- Assess tender documentation and write specifications with supervision of engineering contracts
- Prepare and design detailed drawings if necessary and review designs from consultants across multi-disciplined engineering projects
- Undertake reviews of the Authority's infrastructure assets on a 5-yearly basis, providing up-to-date reports to management and other stakeholders
