 
        
        The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records to support the smooth operation of our business. This role involves recording daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, processing payroll and assisting with compliance requirements.
The Bookkeeper provides reliable financial information to management, helping guide decision-making while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
 * Record and maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software XERO
 * Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, receipts, and payments.
 * Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts regularly.
 * Process weekly payroll, superannuation, and employee entitlements.
 * Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and other statutory obligations in line with compliance requirements.
 * Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring cash flow.
 * Generate regular financial reports (e.g., profit and loss statements, balance sheets) for management.
 * Ensure financial documents are properly filed, organised, and kept confidential.
 * Work closely with General Manager and external accountants, providing accurate financial data when required.
 * Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.
 * Support management with ad-hoc financial tasks and analysis as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
 * Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
 * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
 * Proficiency in accounting software XERO and MS Excel (required).
 * Familiarity with Tanda (highly regarded).
 * High attention to detail and accuracy.
 * Strong organisational and time-management skills.
 * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 * Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping (desirable)
This position will be an on-site role, in Townsville.
