Farm Attendant – On Water Maintenance – Full time – Strahan
Looking for a sea change? We are seeking a motivated Farm Attendant to join our passionate On Water Maintenance Team. Supporting the performance and wellbeing of our Salmon at our stunning Macquarie Harbour Site.
This is a hands-on role, you will work closely with our Fish Performance Managers and Hobart based control room to ensure our feed systems are running smoothly and our fish are thriving. Whether you're aboard a vessel, on a feed barge or servicing marine equipment, every day is different.
What you'll be doing
* Monitor and maintain feed equipment, cameras, winches, and feeing systems.
* Assist in fish husbandry and observe feeding behaviour to optimise performance.
* Carry out maintenance and repairs on feed barges and related systems.
* Transfer and track feed and equipment across marine sites.
* Respond to issues form the Control Room and escalate as needed.
* Help with mooring work and equipment installations.
* Keep marine vessels and shore bases clean, safe and running efficiently.
* Log audits and equipment movements with an eye for detail.
* Proactively report predator activity and follow biosecurity procedures.
* Embrace safety practices and contribute to a positive, productive crew culture.
What you'll bring
* Experience working safely in dynamic, outdoor marine environments.
* Strong problem-solving skills and initiative under pressure.
* Ability to work independently and a part of a tight knit team.
* Clear and confident communicator with a can-do attitude.
* A coxswains ticket and/or Cert III in aquaculture is highly desirable.
* A keen eye for detail and a drive to keep improving system and process
* Willingness to undergo a pre-employment health assessment.
