About the Role
Assistant Director of the Implementation team is responsible for leading a team of facilitators and administrators that support the implementation and analysis of learning solutions for Commission staff.
Position Duties
Leadership and accountability
* Lead and develop learning implementation team within People Capability Development
* Supervise Learning Management System (LMS) administrators in tasks such as course uploads, user management, tracking, and reporting.
* Provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management in relation to the coordination and facilitation of learning.
* Monitor work progress and the delivery of key projects.
* Provide staff with learning opportunities, especially those relating to priority learning needs.
Learning coordination
* Lead the administration and optimisation of the Commission's LMS to ensure smooth user experience and system reliability.
* Manage internal learning programs.
* Develop and maintain continuous improvement practices.
* Maintain and distribute accurate records of Commission learning, as required.
Policy and systems
* Provide leadership in translating government policies into strategies and practices that support the Commission's and the Government's objectives.
* Apply work knowledge, policy, procedures and guidelines to support the consistent management and system improvement of Commission learning.
Program management & quality improvement
* Manage projects and/or lead the change and learning stream for large programs.
* Develop and maintain continuous improvement practices.
* Regularly review the effectiveness of learning and development approaches.
* Lead consultation with internal stakeholders about learning needs and activities.
* Collaborate on cross-agency projects to meet corporate objectives.
Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)
* Experience leading effective teams - including work, engagement, wellbeing and performance management.
* Demonstrated experience in project management in a learning development context.
* Understanding of adult learning principles, and experience applying this to a wide range of learning solutions.
* Excellent ability to use clear and influential communication skills to develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
* Understand and actively demonstrate the APS Code of Conduct and Values.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to travel interstate and intrastate as required.
Position Notes
* Salary offered will be between $122,620- $139,850 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
* Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
* Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
* Merit Pool established through this selection process may be used to fill this or future ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies.
