**Director of IT Services Job Overview**
Job Description:
The Director of IT Services is a key leadership role that oversees the planning, delivery, and improvement of ICT systems supporting educational and operational goals across multiple campuses. This includes strategic oversight of network infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, software development, digital communication tools, physical security systems, and large-scale device management programs.
The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the ICT strategic plan aligned with school and departmental objectives. They will also contribute to whole-of-school policy development and decision-making processes, providing expert ICT and systems advice to school leadership teams.
* Evaluate emerging technologies and systems to support school-wide innovation and future planning in line with department policies.
* Manage network infrastructure, servers, cloud services, and end-user device environments (staff and student).
* Maintain high service levels for digital learning platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Office 365, SharePoint, and OneDrive).
* Oversee telephony systems (landline, mobile, and VoIP) and audiovisual systems across all locations.
* Ensure systems integration, standardisation, and interoperability across geographically dispersed sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain ICT policies, disaster recovery procedures, and system documentation in line with Department of Education standards.
* Lead a team of internal and/or contracted developers in delivering custom digital software solutions supporting educational and operational outcomes.
* Oversee lifecycle management of applications supporting school operations and educational delivery.
* Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
* Evaluate new software solutions to improve workflow efficiency, reporting, and digital learning practices.
