This role offers a unique opportunity to influence national Defence training outcomes by planning and executing as a realistic adversary across land, air, and maritime domains.These roles are active, not paper-based — you’ll be central to planning and executing major Defence exercises such as TALISMAN SABRE and AUSTRAL SHIELD. You will simulate real-world adversary actions in complex multi-domain scenarios to enhance our warfighters’ preparedness.POSITIONS AVAILABLEOPFOR Land PlannerOPFOR Air PlannerOPFOR Maritime Planner*** TSPV REQUIRED ***Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and execute operational campaigns across Land, Air, or Maritime domains during high-end ADF exercises.Serve as the Domain Lead for your area, responsible for emulating enemy forces in Command Post Exercises (CPXs).Maintain and expand intelligence libraries on adversary doctrine, force structures, and capabilities.Collaborate with ADF and allied agencies within a Combined and Joint operational environment.Operate in secure Defence Simulation environments using tools like JCATS, JSAF, JLOD, and JAWS.Candidate RequirementsLand Planner: Ex-ADF (Army) O3–O5 Combat Corps or AUSTINT OfficerAir Planner: Ex-ADF (RAAF) O3–O5 Pilot, WSO, Air Ops Controller, or Intelligence OfficerMaritime Planner: Ex-ADF (RAN) O3–O5 Maritime Warfare Officer, Submariner, or Intelligence OfficerDemonstrated experience in Joint and Combined planning at operational HQ level, with posting experience at HQJOC or Component Command. Willingness to travel (domestic/international) and deploy during exercises.
