We're looking for an experienced Radio Installation Technician / Auto Electrical to join a site communications project, delivering a focused rollout of a new P25 Tait radio system across light vehicles.
This is a hands-on, vehicle-based role, suited to someone comfortable working independently in a mining environment and confident owning installations end to end.
Why this role stands out
Consistent roster: 8 days on / 6 days off, day shift only
Clear scope: Sole purpose role — remove legacy systems and install new P25 radios
Autonomy: Operate as a sole installer within the site comms team
Contract security: Initial 6-month contract with strong extension potential
On-the-tools work: Practical, vehicle-based installs where experience matters
What you'll be doing
Removing existing Sismico radio systems from light vehicles
Installing and commissioning Tait P25 UHF radio systems to site standards
Completing all auto-electrical work associated with vehicle installs
Working independently while coordinating with the site communications team
Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and to best-practice standards
Operating effectively in a mine site environment — heat, dust, time pressure and all
What we're looking for
Strong experience in vehicle-based radio installations (UHF / P25 highly regarded)
Background in auto electrical work or similar mobile equipment installations
Previous mine site experience and understanding of site safety requirements
Comfortable working as a sole installer and owning the quality of your work
High attention to detail and pride in delivering clean, reliable installs
This is a straightforward, well-scoped site role for someone who enjoys practical work, autonomy, and a reliable roster. If you're an Auto Electrician or Radio Tech who's comfortable on mine sites and confident working on vehicles, this is a strong opportunity with continuity and upside.
