In this role you will have overall responsibility for the management of Sentence & Case Management Services staff at a given correctional location. They oversee all sentence and case management functions including the assessment and reporting of risk as it relates to case management functions, as well as classification and placement decisions, lawful detention and capacity utilisation.
The Primary Accountabilities Of The Site Manager Include
* Lead the day to day operations of a team of staff in the delivery of both sentence and case management functions at a specified correctional centre
* Strengthen community safety through the implementation of systems that ensure the strategic and operational integration of sentence and case management services roles and functions at a given location and in accordance with broader Agency values
* Ensure seamless operationalisation of prisoner assessment, classification, placement, and case management services as well as the accurate reporting of critical prisoner risks, including at the time of discharge or transition to community supervision
* Ensure case management services are delivered with a person-centred focused and assessment, planning and case management is informed by the Risk, Need, Responsivity (RNR) principle
* Identify, review and make decisions regarding classification and placement for difficult to place prisoners
* Monitor, manage and provide advice to senior management regarding local capacity utilisation trends and issues
* Monitor sentence and case management activities to ensure opportunities for intervention are maximised, increasing prisoners' preparation for release to the community and contribute to the reduction of reoffending
* Implement and maintain appropriate mechanisms to ensure QCS meets statutory and professional obligations including auditing, reporting and frameworks to deliver on key performance indicators
* Implement and oversee processes, including Development and Expectations Agreements, that ensure staff receive coaching, training and professional development delivering a skilled, motivated, and productive team committed to community safety
* Manage and review location-based compliance with corporate governance e.g. oversight controls, human resources, workplace health and safety management practices and associated legislative frameworks
* Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally across QCS custodial and community senior management and conduct briefings to operational leadership teams
* Attend and contribute to local and Agency level risk management meetings as a content expert where required e.g. Discharge and Release Oversight Committee
* Build partnerships with the Parole Board Queensland, local law enforcement, court, health and relevant community agencies and support services and attend stakeholder meetings as the QCS representative to ensure maximisation of community safety efforts
* Facilitate appropriate stakeholder information sharing in line with legislative and policy requirements
* Ensure records and data are maintained in the Integrated Offender Management System (IOMS) and that these records are accurate and current
* Ensure prisoner requests for information are completed in line with legislative and policy requirements e.g. Right to Information requests
* Support senior management in the annual strategic and operational planning process
* Timely provision of documents that focus on strategic, review and briefing requirements to the Regional Manager, Sentence and Case Management Services in support of regional operations
