About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover the 2027 Fellowship program for 12 months, at 1 FTE / 86 hours per fortnight within the Neurology Department.
The Fellowship includes a mix of service and training activities. The Fellow will be supervised in clinical duties, including outpatient management, inpatient management, inpatient consultations, routine EEG reporting, and after‑hours emergency management.
Classified as HM25 YR 1 – HM30 YR 6 (base salary $129,048.40 to $177,622.12 per annum, plus superannuation).
What you’ll achieve
You will obtain broad‑based experience and competence in clinical child neurology. The Fellowship will include exposure to sub‑specialty services such as epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders. Clinics, ward rounds and consultation reviews are supervised by a consultant and conducted in a teaching format.
Your skills and experience
* MB BS or equivalent is mandatory.
* Mandatory: Royal Australasian College of Physicians advanced trainee (or equivalent) having completed basic general paediatric training and with an interest in paediatric neurology, or intent to train as a paediatric neurologist.

The RCH Department of Neurology is one of the busiest child neurology services in Australia, offering general neurology and subspecialty services in epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, stroke, neurogenetics, neurofibromatosis, neuro‑oncology, demyelination and movement disorders.

* Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
* Valid Working with Children Check.
* Compliance with RCH’s “Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure.
* Compliance with vaccination requirement against Influenza annually for Category A and B roles; provision of Australian Government Immunisation History Statement is required.
* Comply with any direction regarding vaccination or proof of immunity to other diseases, unless a relevant exemption is accepted by the RCH.
* Successful completion of background checks including reference checks.
