About the Role
The Maitland Mental Health Unit, part of Hunter New England Local Health District and located within Maitland Hospital, is seeking an experienced and motivated Level 1/2 Social Worker to join the multidisciplinary team on a permanent part-time basis (2 days per week). In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical social work services to consumers admitted to the inpatient mental health unit, supporting both patients and their families/carers through acute mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventions
* Support recovery-focused, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team
* Provide a strong psychosocial perspective to each episode of care
* Promote family, cultural, and carer inclusion in care planning
* Consult on family, domestic violence, and child protection matters
* Support patients at risk of homelessness and connect them with community services
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance continuity of care
