Research Services Consultant at Curtin University
We seek a Research Services Consultant to join our team at Curtin University. This full-time, fixed-term position is available until December 2026 and is based at our vibrant Bentley campus.
The annual salary is $102,506 - $110,061 (G07), plus 17% superannuation.

Our research spans science, engineering, health, society, business, and more, balancing demand-driven and researcher-driven initiatives to address societal and industrial challenges.
Role Overview:
This role involves developing, reviewing, negotiating, and managing research and commercial contracts. You will support the Team Lead in fostering a values-led culture emphasizing high-quality, efficient, and strategic contractual services. You will gain exposure to various university research activities, from project management to commercial agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice on contracts and commercial matters supporting risk management and decision-making.
* Draft, review, and negotiate research, consultancy, and service contracts.
* Represent Curtin in external negotiations with partners and funders.
* Promote a positive culture by role modeling Curtin's values and behaviors.
* Lead the development of training and knowledge-sharing resources for stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal university service providers.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in legal or commercial contract development, negotiation, and management.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
* Ability to interpret policies and provide professional advice to diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Analytical skills to assess complex situations and offer practical solutions.
* Experience in research administration within a tertiary institution is desirable.
Role Requirements:
* Current work rights in Australia for the contract duration.
* Candidates must undergo police clearance and background checks.
