Gold Coast Private Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Diabetes Educator to join our team of professionals in providing excellent patient care. We are seeking a permanent part time Diabetes Educator who can work two regular days a week (ideally Tuesday and Thursday day shifts) and who has the flexibility to work additional days when required for leave cover.

Your duties will include
* Provide education to all staff
* Provide expert diabetes advice and diabetes education to inpatients and their significant others
* Review management of referred patients with diabetes, assess patients and liaise with staff and visiting medical officers regarding plan of care
* Undertake research and development, service planning and education activities to meet clinical and nursing need in diabetes Education
* Oversee the appropriate maintenance and storage of diabetes equipment
Essential Criteria:
Experience in diabetes educator role or similar required and experience in a hospital-based setting is preferred
· Current registration with AHPRA or appropriate professional registration
· Post Graduate qualifications which is recognised by the ADEA.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills
· Well developed verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrated personal integrity and ability to provide compassionate care to patients
· Proven ability to work well within a team and able to coach and mentor staff within the team to
