The Role
Wolff Power Pty Ltd are seeking dynamic and experienced HV Primary and Secondary Systems Electrical Technicians to delivery of High Voltage (HV) infrastructure projects and specialised electrical services throughout Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Operating from the Narangba office and project sites, you'll be responsible for managing teams, driving project outcomes, and ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Install, inspect, and maintain high voltage electrical equipment and systems
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in high voltage systems and components
* Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent system failures
* Collaborate with engineering teams to implement high voltage system upgrades and modifications
* Performing HV cable jointing, terminations, testing, and fault diagnosis on XLPE and PILC cables
* Interpreting plans, schematics, and technical drawings to complete high-voltage installations to specification
* Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices
* Oversee the management of test records, ITC, ITR, and completion documentation
* Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in high voltage systems.
About you
* Minimum 3 years' experience with HV cable jointing (up to 132kV)
* Demonstrate extensive experience with OMICRON test equipment and software
* Experience with HV testing
* Proven track record in working with high voltage electrical systems
* Experience or keen interest in high voltage electrical testing, including but not limited to:
* HV cable fault locating and testing, including VLF and tan delta
* Partial discharge testing
* Transformer testing
* Switchgear maintenance and testing
* Thermography surveys
* Protection relay testing
* Earth testing
* CT and VT.
* Strong familiarity with safety procedures and regulations pertaining to high voltage work
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
* Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Physical fitness and adaptability to work in various environmental conditions
* Willingness to travel to job sites and work away from home as required by the company.
Credentials:
* Australian Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech
* Electrical License
* High Voltage Switching Cert (desirable but not essential)
* Current CPR/LVR
* Current Unrestricted C Class Driver's License
* White / Blue Construction Card.
