Your new role and team
As part of the continued growth of our national Water Business Group, our Asset Management and Planning team is seeking experienced Planning Engineers with wastewater expertise to support and expand our national sewer planning program. The program covers model development, calibration, network master planning and detailed planning. The position is based in Melbourne or Brisbane and spans responsibilities from technical assessments to strategic planning and business case preparation.
Responsibilities
* Support our network calibration program as part of an experienced modelling team.
* Conduct technical assessments of sewerage networks to address performance, growth, compliance, and renewals.
* Deliver strategic and master planning, options assessments, feasibility investigations, and detailed planning projects.
* Prepare business cases that meet regulatory requirements for prudency and efficiency.
* Support asset management and strategy development functions.
* Collaborate with key clients across Australia to deliver future‐ready solutions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in water engineering, ideally with a consultancy background.
* A recognised Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent); Chartered status (CPENG) is highly desirable.
* Expertise in planning sewerage networks, understanding operations and identifying risks.
* Strong skills in hydraulic principles, including hydraulic modelling and sewer network calibration.
* Ability to process large datasets, including meteorological and SCADA data.
* Proficiency in GIS, Excel and analytics tools for data assessment.
* Knowledge of decision‐support methodologies (MCA, risk assessments, cost‐benefit analysis).
* Experience in client engagement, proposal development and delivering client‐focused outcomes.
* Competence in preparing technical reports and managing risk on large projects.
* Understanding of project management principles, including scope and resource planning.
