Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.
Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.
This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.
About the role
As the Senior Improvement Partner, you will play a critical role within the Continuous Improvement team, part of the Allied Health, Strategy, Improvement & Experience directorate at Eastern Health. You will support the delivery and evolution of the Improving Performance Together framework by applying practical improvement systems that empower staff and teams to solve meaningful problems and identify opportunities for change. Reporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement, you will provide leadership in building a culture and capability for continuous improvement across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams across all programs, directorates, and campuses, coaching and advising on initiatives that align with Eastern Health’s strategic priorities. In this role, you will apply structured improvement methodologies, including Lean and PDSA, and use data analysis tools—such as run charts and statistical process control charts—to inform decision-making and drive measurable improvements in performance, processes, and outcomes. A key focus will be supporting the implementation of Eastern Health’s Continuous Improvement Capability Framework, where you will deliver tools, templates, and training that strengthen organisational capability and help foster a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
* At least 3 years’ experience in redesign and improvement working with healthcare clinicians and delivering successful change in a complex healthcare environment,
* Experience in training and coaching senior staff in improvement, project and change management
* An understanding of improvement science with prior experience in healthcare improvement projects and formal or currently undertaking training in improvement methodologies
* Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
* Self-motivated and able to work under pressure both independently and within a team
* A commitment to improving the patient’s experience of their healthcare
* Tertiary qualification in health-related field (i.e. clinical qualification and/or health management)
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
