The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable and collaborative individual to lead The Arts team. As Program Coordinator – The Arts, you will join the Leadership Team and work with Arts staff, students and the wider school community to provide educational leadership by developing and promoting the school's vision and strategic directions.

You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to lead and manage a vibrant Arts team to deliver high-quality curriculum and programs. The role requires innovation, knowledge of instructional and curriculum leadership, and keeping abreast of developments in the Arts Learning Area and the Business Plan. You should be reflective, assess the effectiveness of the Arts Learning Area and teaching practice, and help cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment.

Applicants should have excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Arts Curriculum and the ability to teach across Years 7 to 12. Experience in developing and leading an Indigenous Arts program is highly desirable. The successful applicant will promote active learning and provide engaging activities to enable students at all levels to achieve their potential. Applicants should be improvement-focused, participate in ongoing professional learning, and continually reflect on their teaching and leadership to enhance student engagement and achievement outcomes.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Geraldton Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2,000 per annum (gross, pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a portion on commencement with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to receive the second payment.

* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
