About the Role
Join the 24‑bed Geriatric Evaluation Management Unit at Kew, providing person‑centred care to older patients. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supported by the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide nursing care for older adults, respecting their dignity.
* Maintain accurate patient documentation in line with health service guidelines.
* Respond to clinical change, initiating consultation with relevant medical and interdisciplinary teams.
* Assist and mentor graduate nurses, grade 2 nurses, enrolled nurses, casual staff, agency staff and student nurses.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff at all levels.
* Identify risk and actively work to minimise and manage it.
* Take all necessary care and precautions when undertaking clinical procedures.
* Complete annual clinical competencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA.
* Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one.
* Strong communication skills with patients with complex social dynamics.
* Commitment to person‑centred care and wellbeing initiatives.
