Future Energy Skills Limited (FES) is a not-for-profit entity established and funded by energy industry/union/employer association and government collaboration.
FES has two core purposes. It is the 'voice' of the energy sector in respect to advancing workforce and skills development initiatives providing informed, strategic advice to government and industry encompassing matters of education, training policy, research requirements and the delivery of related, high-profile projects.
FES is also a leading provider of training, assessment and licensing services in respect to the Licensed Electricians Assessment (LEA) and the Licensed Electrical Inspector (LEI) accreditation.
Due to an internal initiative and reallocation of resources, Future Energy Skills now requires a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Training professional to lead the experienced team responsible for the delivery of the organisation's respected Licensed Electricians Assessment (LEA) training program.
In this varied and challenging role, the appointee will be responsible for the following key activities:
Lead the delivery of the LEA Training Program (approximate time allocation 50%)
· Establish and maintain a learning environment, including encouraging clients to take responsibility for their own learning.
· Ensure program/resources scheduling is completed, at least three months in advance.
· Assist with ensuring staff working offsite have all services prepared, equipment and accommodation booked prior to delivery.
· Select and deliver appropriate training and learning materials.
· Develop and modify appropriate training and learning materials as appropriate to meet client needs.
· Select and deliver appropriate medium for delivery of training that aims to include technology-based delivery; blended or distance-based learning.
· Supervise and monitor client progress on a regular basis and assess client skills against required standards and in accordance with curriculum/training documentation.
· Maintain accurate records of client's progress.
· Ensure training,tools, equipment, and materials are maintained to the standards required.
· Provide pre-course advice to clients and participate in selection and induction.
· Represent FES at Licensing Committee, VET Committee meetings and both internal and external industry nights.
Coordinate Candidate Support Program (approximate time allocation 5%)
· Coordinate the FES advocacy role in supporting candidates through their licensing journey.
· Maintain proactive communication processes that provide information to clients.
· Assist the Executive Officer with continuous improvement model of the support program
Continuous Professional Development of the Training Team (approximate time allocation 15%)
· Ensure all new staff members and existing staff members are supported as they commence training delivery.
· Ensure bi-annual and ad hoc peer observations are conducted.
· Coordinate monthly training meetings to provide open discussions on planning, monitoring, moderation, validation, and evaluation of resources.
· Assist to ensure trainers maintain currency and undertake professional development, if required.
· Set up an internal PD program for trainers quarterly within a scheduled trainer's meeting.
LEA Training Program Evaluation & Development (approximate time allocation 20%)
· Develop, maintain and coordinate appropriate course evaluation tool/s.
· Coordinate the evaluation of the effectiveness of the training programs in line with FES requirements, on an annual basis (as a minimum).
· Coordinate the maintenance of the training and learning resources.
Contribution to the Strategic & Annual Planning Processes (approximate time allocation 10%)
· Assist the Executive Officer in the preparation of an annual plan for licensing delivery to maximise existing resources and ensure FES isresponsive to industry and candidate requirements.
· Inform the Executive Officer about expected future developments.
We seek a qualified 'A' Grade Electrician with proven 'hands-on' and diverse experience in the electrotechnology industry and specific training experience within the Victorian VET framework. Sound knowledge and understanding of Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) licensing and assessment requirements and processes is vital.

This is a permanent full-time position based at Future Energy Skill's new industry training centre located in Clayton (near Monash University).
