Overview
Commercial Underwriting Counsel for Fidelity National Financial - Florida Agency focused on providing excellent customer service while making sound underwriting decisions assessing risk to the Company. Responsible for handling primarily high volume of underwriting inquiries from company title examiners and Florida title agents. Additionally, Commercial Underwriting Counsel will have the opportunity to present training seminars/webinars and interact with agents.
Education
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a commercial underwriting attorney or equivalent experience.
Experience in handling large commercial transactions, including but not limited to underwriting various facets of creation of condominium developments and assessing construction lien risk preferred.
Prior experience in a national business unit or national commercial services office a plus.
Additional Information
Additional Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida or will become Authorized House Counsel with the Florida Bar within 90 days of acceptance of job offer.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to assess risk and address problems with a solution-focused attitude and an eye toward practicality.
Exceptional customer service attitude and people skills in working with title agents.
Willingness to work with other Underwriting Counsel in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong and accurate attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
