The Team
The Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU) in the new K Block campus of the RHH boasts a contemporary single room design across Special Care Nursery (SCN), High Dependency Unit (HDU), NICU & Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The unit consists of 28 beds focussed on providing families with a true Family Integrated Care Model of Care. The Role
* Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.
Appointment Details
* Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to seven (7) months. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
* Applicants may be considered for subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies for a period of twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary
* $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
* Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable).
