Role Summary
This role is responsible for delivering competency-based training and assessment programs across the Region, and providing advice, coaching, supervising, and monitoring Volunteer Unit Trainers in the delivery of training.
The position enhances Operational Readiness by supporting the Unit Support Teams in developing plans to reduce training gaps in Units and meet Regional Operational Capability Standards.
The Trainer maintains volunteer training and assessment records to meet VICSES Registered Training Organisation (RTO) compliance and VICSES Health and Safety standards.
The Victoria State Emergency Service plays a major role in Victoria's emergency response activities during emergencies such as Flood, Storm, Earthquake, Tsunami, Landslide, and supports other agencies and departments as required under section 6A of the VICSES Act.
Employees may be employed directly or called upon to support emergency response activities following appropriate training and assessment.

We have the largest road rescue network in Australia, provide 24/7 response to road incidents, and support agencies like Victoria Police, CFA, FRV, Parks Victoria, and DEECA during major incidents.
