The opportunity
We're looking for a proactive and community-minded individual to help deliver a broad range of regulatory and educational services. As our General Duties Ranger, you'll play a key role in upholding Council regulations, with a key focus and priority on parking enforcement, particularly during peak holiday seasons.
Outside of peak season is where you'll begin to develop your skills as a Ranger, shadowing our Ranger's on a rotation basis, undertaking activities such as animal and stock control, environmental protection, and public education.
You'll be part of a supportive, high-performing team dedicated to making a positive impact across our local government area of Port Stephens.
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week over a 7 day rotation.
What does a 7 day rotation look like?
* Base Salary Range: $69,600 - $81,716 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace
Being community facing, we roster over a 7-day period, Monday – Sunday. Rosters are completed in advance, with opportunity to consider any leave requests you have to ensure a positive work-life balance across the team. When working weekends, you do receive penalty rates.

Qualifications
* A certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Control) or equivalent
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
* Understanding of application of relevant legislation (Road Rules 2014, Local Government Act 1993, Roads Act 1993, and Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021)
