Clinical Nurse, HIV

We are currently seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse to join our highly dedicated HIV team on a permanent, parttime (0.6 FTE) basis. This is a fantastic chance to develop skills in a new area of nursing, whilst providing care to a diverse community, including CALD, gender diverse and aged.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have a strong nursing background and an interest in learning about HIV, with the ability to, demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

- Current registration with AHPRA and a minimum 4 years post-graduate clinical experience.
- Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal and listening) with a friendly and empathetic approach.
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills to manage the provision of quality client care.
- The ability to work autonomously, prioritise workload and work within allocated timeframes.
- Non-judgemental with an understanding of stigma and discrimination, cultural considerations and privacy concerns.

The role

- Deliver high-quality and ‘best care’ driven nursing support with a focus on person-centred care for our valued clients who are living with HIV.
- Medication management – Organising Dose Administration Aids, ensuring access to treatment options.
- Enhanced care coordination between HIV specialists, allied health and primary care.
- Promote client self-management and ongoing engagement in treatment and care.
- Support diverse clients, including CALD community, gender diverse, mental health and aged care.
- Provide education to clients who are newly diagnosed with HIV.
- Collaborate with NGO’s, senior clinicians and many other external parties.
- Provide an excellent standard of healthcare, ensuring client interactions are handled with respect, care and confidentiality.
