About the Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be a trusted advisor across the organisation, providing commercial and strategic legal support on high-value and high-profile matters. You’ll work closely with stakeholders at all levels, turning complex issues into practical solutions while helping to protect and enable the business’s ambitious objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, negotiate and review a wide variety of commercial agreements including sponsorships, cooperative marketing, goods & services, IP licensing, confidentiality, trade promotions, software agreements, and releases.
* Provide strategic legal advice on commercial risks and deliver pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
* Develop legal frameworks and negotiation strategies for complex deals.
* Manage disputes and complaints with strong negotiation and resolution skills.
* Advise on compliance with Australian Consumer Law, data/privacy, and other regulatory requirements.
* Continuously improve and maintain a suite of contract templates and contract management processes.
* Build legal capability and awareness across the broader organisation.
About You
* At least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial, corporate, TMT, procurement or commercial litigation.
* Extensive experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial contracts.
* Robust negotiation, dispute resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent communicator who can influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
* Able to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in an energetic environment.
* Government or public sector contracting knowledge is highly regarded.
