Position
Data Analyst – Fixed‐Term (until 30.06.2027), Part‐Time (0.7 FTE – 50.75 hrs/fortnight) based at CQUniversity Rockhampton. The role is part of the Capricornia Stronger Places, Stronger People (SPSP) initiative.
Remuneration
Total remuneration $85,221 to $92,396 pa (including salary of $72,013 to $78,076 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).

Job Description
The role provides technical expertise in data collection, management, analysis and reporting. You will design and maintain datasets, dashboards and reporting tools that monitor program outcomes, support evaluation activities and inform strategic planning. Working closely with community partners, academic staff and stakeholders, you will translate complex data into clear, accessible insights and contribute to ethical, participatory and place‐based data practices.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain data systems and dashboards for the Capricornia region.
• Conduct statistical analysis and data visualisation using tools such as Excel, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau or equivalents.
• Produce actionable insights to inform decision‐making and support evaluation activities.
• Communicate findings to non‐technical audiences.
• Manage complex datasets and ensure data quality.
• Contribute to project planning, prioritisation and delivery across concurrent workstreams.
Requirements
* High‐level capability with statistical analysis and data visualisation tools such as Excel, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau or equivalent platforms.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse non‐technical audiences.
* Understanding of or ability to quickly develop expertise in strengths‐based, place‐based and participatory approaches to working with communities in regional and remote contexts.
* Proven project management skills, including planning, prioritisation and delivery across concurrent workstreams.
* Experience managing complex datasets, undertaking advanced analysis and producing actionable insights that inform decision‐making.
* Current valid driver's licence and eligibility to hold a Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
