About the Role
Valentis is seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer (Electrical) to support the delivery of electrical and multidisciplinary projects across mining operations in Western Australia. This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in a site-based mining environment while working closely with senior project engineers, operations, and contractors.
You will assist in the planning, execution, and close-out of capital and sustaining projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the planning and execution of electrical projects across mine sites (e.g. power distribution, HV/LV systems, substations, plant upgrades).
* Support project scheduling, cost tracking, progress reporting, and documentation.
* Coordinate with site operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors.
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
* Assist with procurement activities, including RFQs, technical evaluations, and material tracking.
* Participate in site inspections, commissioning activities, and handovers.
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, site engineering standards, and statutory requirements.
* Promote and adhere to site safety, health, and environmental procedures at all times.
* Identify and escalate technical or schedule risks to senior engineers or project managers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* 1–3 years' experience in an engineering, project, or site-based role (mining or heavy industry experience advantageous but not essential).
* Understanding of electrical systems commonly used in mining or industrial environments.
* Familiarity with Australian Standards and WA mining safety regulations is desirable.
* Strong computer skills, including MS Office; exposure to project management or scheduling software is an advantage.
